How a flexible field-service model supported hotel self check-in across Europe

A UK hospitality technology provider needed onsite engineering across Europe without building a field team. Newcorp designed a flexible service model to cover it.

Background

A UK-based hospitality technology provider supplies self check-in kiosks to hotels. The estate spans thousands of locations across multiple European countries.

The customer has no field engineering resource of its own.

Challenge

Every kiosk is a guest's first point of contact with a hotel. When one fails, the hotel notices straight away.

Supporting that estate meant getting an engineer on site, with the right part, in whichever country the fault occurred. Building that capability in-house would have meant a fixed field-service team, regional coverage and the management overhead that comes with it.

The customer needed reliable onsite engineering without owning the operation behind it.

Solution

Newcorp designed an outsourced field-service model covering the UK and mainland Europe.

The model combines:

  • Onsite field engineering
  • Regional engineering coverage
  • Centralised service management
  • Usage tracking and reporting
  • A flexible prepaid service model

Replacement parts are supplied through the customer's own technology partner. Newcorp is not involved in parts logistics. Its role is the engineering: diagnosing, repairing and replacing equipment on site.

That gives a clear split of responsibility. The parts arrive through one route. The engineer arrives through another.

Outcome

The customer now has a way to resolve hardware faults across its European estate without building or managing a field-service network.

  • Flexible: Engineering capacity is drawn on as needed, through a prepaid model, rather than carried as a fixed cost.
  • One point of coordination: Newcorp manages field activity centrally, so the customer deals with one provider, not many.
  • Consistent across countries: The same service model applies wherever the kiosk is installed.
  • Visible: Regular reporting shows how the service is being used.

Ongoing Partnership

Newcorp continues to provide field engineering under the same model, working alongside the customer's parts partner. The customer's hardware issues are resolved on site, and its team stays focused on the product and its hotel customers.
